Co-founded an aerospace company to build nanosatellites and hypergolic rocket engines.
Studied physics and electrical engineering at MIT, where I started a student-run politics journal and wrote papers on superconducting qubits and machine learning.
Went to Beijing as a Schwarzman Scholar and to Oxford as a Marshall Scholar.
Spent a few years at RAND and the Kissinger Dialogues, thinking about U.S.–China competition and the future of AI.
Left my DPhil to go work in government.
Served as Senior Policy Advisor for AI and Emerging Technology in the Trump White House, leading the AI team at OSTP & coordinating national security, science policy, and semiconductor issues.
Now Head of Frontier Compute Strategy at Anthropic.
Outside of work, I attempt astrophotography, grow pet bacteria, and hunt for the perfect crispy nugget.
Avid collector of oscilloscopes, vintage test equipment, and semiconductor gear.
Proud owner of a Therac 20 particle accelerator and one of three (3) original EUV Micro-Exposure Tools.
